Hawaiian Ethnohistorical Research Specialist

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor of Arts degree & 3 years experience

KULEANA:

  • Conducting cultural & historical research using Māhele ʻĀina documents, historic maps, & other archival/literature sources

  • Other kuleana may include conducting ethnographic interviews & archaeological field surveys

 

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • B.A. (required) or M.A. (preferred) in Hawaiian Studies, Archaeology, Anthropology, or related fields

  • Desire to benefit ʻāina, kaiāulu, & lāhui

  • ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi skills

  • Can work independently & have access to reliable internet

  • Have knowledge of Google Drive, Adobe Suite, & Microsoft Office

 

CONDITIONS:

  • Flexible work from home schedule with occasional in-person work

  • If working 20+ hrs/wk health coverage included

  • Must be at least 17 years of age and be eligible to work in Hawaiʻi

  • Must have a computer and reliable internet service
